Cadence Appoints New Dean of Cadence University

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2001--Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN), the world's leading supplier of electronic design products and services, today announced the appointment of Spencer Clark as vice president and dean of Cadence® University, the corporate education arm of the company.

Clark is responsible for professional and corporate employee development education and all other training and development activities at Cadence. He will also lead the effort to align company education and development with the product groups via various colleges. Cadence University is dedicated to strengthening bonds between employees, customers, and Cadence, and enabling communication in an environment of mutual support.

Clark has a diverse background in various industries, including experience with the internationally known General Electric training and education center in Crotonville, N.Y. He was also chief operations officer for RFI Enterprises, president of PRC Engineering Services, Inc. and Poplar Corner Enterprises.
